Simms Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It's October, which not only means the time has come to take full advantage of fall fishing but also, to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Once again, Simms Fishing Products has released a limited edition collection of product that commemorates the month long event and benefits Casting for Recovery.

Casting for Recovery (CfR) operates under the mission of enhancing the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique retreat program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. This year marks the 4th year in a row that Simms has partnered with CfR to further their efforts during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"While fishing, all of your senses are connected to nature, your mind is clear of everyday life and you just feel good," says Simms Sr. Director of Employee & Community Engagement, Diane Bristol. "Based on the thank you letters that we receive at Simms from CfR participants, their fishing experience is that impactful and more. When you receive a letter that says, 'I forgot all about my cancer.', that means something. It means that Casting for Recovery is making a difference to the over 8,000 women that have participated in a CfR retreat."

This year, the limited edition CfR collection is comprised of four (4) products, all developed specifically to celebrate CfR. The collection includes a T-Shirt featuring the artwork of Andrea Larko ($24.95), a pink Guide Nipper ($49.95) made in Bozeman, Montana, a Guide Lanyard (24.95) constructed with anodized pink hardware and a Hex Camo Trout Trucker hat accented with a pink Simms fish ($24.95).

All Products will ship directly from Bozeman for a limited time and are available only at: simmsfishing.com.

All profits from the sale will go to the Bozeman, MT, based non-profit Casting for Recovery®. Established in 1996, CfR offers 55 fly fishing retreats across the US, serving 800 women each year. For more information, visit castingforrecovery.org.
