The Southern Bluefin run started at the beginning of August and is still going on at the time of writing this newsletter. In living memory there has never been a run of gamefish near the top end of their size going for so long over such a great distance which was the whole southern coast of Australia and South Africa.

Even more amazing is the incredible success of Pakula lures, accounting for an estimated catch of between 70 and 75% of the total game fishing catch of more than 500 100kg plus Southern Bluefin Tuna including 5 records one of which was the largest Southern Bluefin ever caught in Australia.

Lure sales were insane to say the least with our team doing up to 18 hour days to keep up with sending out orders, 95% of which left within 24 hours. Our suppliers responded with supplying skirts and other components within 7 days.

We are certainly proud of the commitment of our small team being able to cope with such an increase in demand.
