The Albright is a proven knot that can be used to attach monofilament or fluorocarbon leader to single strand wire without the use of a swivel, helping to attract more bites from wary fish. It's also a good knot for joining monofilament leader and main line of greatly varying diameters.

Start by making a loop in the wire (or if you want to tie an Albright with monofilament, make your loop in the heavier line). Photo: Steve Dougherty-doughertyphotos.com

Pass the end of the monofilament through the wire loop towards your fingers. Photo: Steve Dougherty-doughertyphotos.com

From here you want to pinch the monofilament alongside the wire, making sure to leave enough space to make your wraps. Photo: Steve Dougherty-doughertyphotos.com

Start wrapping the monofilament in neat coils toward the loop's end. Photo: Steve Dougherty-doughertyphotos.com

Make 6 to 8 wraps around the wire, making sure to keep the coils from jumping over each other. Pass the tag end of the monofilament through the loop in the same direction as the main line. Photo: Steve Dougherty-doughertyphotos.com

Lubricate the knot and slowly draw tight by pulling on the main line, leader and tag end. Make sure the loops are neat and continue tightening. Photo: Steve Dougherty-doughertyphotos.com

After trimming the tag end and breaking the wire to a clean finish you are left with a streamlined connection. Photo: Steve Dougherty-doughertyphotos.com
