We had Tom and his friends out swordfishing on the Bn'M today. Yesterday Charlie loaded the yeti with an assortment of baits rigged, including squid, bonito strips and mahi belly's. Today was windier than the weatherman said, but we still jogged out at 10-12 knots and made it to the sword grounds before 9 am. We hooked up on the first drift and Tom had the fish on the windon but then the fish shook loose. I could see the swordfish swimming and it was just a pup around 30 lbs. The next drift we had another bite, but I think it was another small fish and we never hooked him. The next couple hours were slow, and the wind picked up a little bit. We were rocking and rolling in the Gulf Stream in 3-4 footers, but finally at 2:30 pm we got another bite. The excitement was short lived as the fish came off after a second and never came back. We reset and made the same drift but no bites. I decided to make one more quick drift at the top of the wall, but nada. It was a good effort and everyone onboard knew we tried hard, but it just wasn't meant to be. We got in to Bud N' Mary's Marina as the sunset and are headed back out tomorrow.
