JUST IN! The IGFA recently received the world record claim for this massive 361 kg (795 lb 13 oz) swordfish, caught by Kiwi angler Nicky Sinden on March 22nd while fishing off Whangaroa, New Zealand. Sinden was fishing aboard the Game On, captained by David Woodman, and needed approximately one hour to land the fish on 60 kg (130 lb) tackle. If approved, Nicky’s catch will be the heaviest broadbill by a female angler ever recorded by the IGFA, and one of the heaviest of all time! Congratulations to Nicky Sinden and the team of Game On!
