Hi, the 10th edition of the Lobito big game fishing tournament is just over and it was an incredible event.
During 4 days, more than 50 teams released more than 500 Atlantic sailfish and 7 blue marlin. The sailfish concentration was phenomenal, with several team catching up to 10 fish per day. A new national record of 16 releases was set before the tournament.

Two world records were set during the tournament, the all tackle men record for Atlantic sailfish, with an incredible 64,6 kg fish caught by Marco Couto, and the female 20lbs with a 62,1kg fish caught by Luísa Piçarra.

Lobito, Angola, is now clearly the best Atlantic sailfish destination in Africa, and probably in the world when it comes to size. Many 100lbs+ sails were tagged and released. Only two fish were weighed during the tournament .
