The IGFA World Record Review Committee has approved Guy Yocom's record application for the 193.68kg (427 lb) yellowfin tuna he landed on September 18, 2012. The IFGA's approval of the record brings the fish one step closer to winning the Mustad "Hook a Million" prize, which was open to anyone who caught an IFGA all-tackle world record yellowfin tuna using a Mustad Hook before September 30th, 2012. John Petruesco's massive 201.85kg (445 lb) yellowfin landed in December won't be eligible for an IFGA record due to the fact that more than one person touched the rod during the fight.
